Weather Outlook:

Midwest OCOTBER 2010

Temperatures are favored to average cooler normal. Precipitation is expected to total near normal.

Sunny skies are favored to open the month on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2.

Fair skies with scattered showers are expected from Sunday to Tuesday, Oct. 3-5.

The weather pattern is favored to become more active from Wednesday to Sunday, Oct. 6-10. Look for passing showers and maybe at least one day of steady rain. Moderate to locally heavy rainfall totals are possible.

Partly cloudy skies with lingering showers are favored for Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 11-12.

Prospects are good for an active week of weather from Wednesday to Monday, Oct. 13- 18. I suspect most of the precipitation will fall as rain but I can't rule out snow, especially around the 18th. Moderate precipitation totals are likely with temperatures turning colder.

Fair skies are favored from Tuesday to Thursday, Oct. 19-21.

A mix of sun and clouds with passing showers are likely from Friday to Monday, Oct. 22-25. Precipitation should be light to moderate.

A fairly quiet period is favored from Tuesday to Sunday, Oct. 26-31. Maybe one day of precipitation at best during this period.
