Midwest July 2012

Precipitation is expected to total wetter than normal. Temperatures are favored to average warmer than normal.

Sunny skies and hot temperatures are favored to open the month on Sunday and Monday, July 1-2.

Prospects are good for an active weather pattern from Tuesday to Sunday, July 3-8. Showers and thunderstorms should be the general rule with locally heavy precipitation totals. Late day storms on Wednesday the 4th of July may put a damper on fireworks.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected on Monday and Tuesday, July 9-10.

Evening showers and thunderstorms are favored from Wednesday to Friday, July 11-13. Moderate to locally heavy rain totals are possible.

A three day period of sunny skies and hot temperatures are expected from Saturday to Monday, July 14-16.

The threat of showers and thunderstorms will be in the forecast for an extended period of time from Tuesday to Tuesday, July 17-24. Much of the stormy activity will be our typical late day and overnight storm type of active. Be aware of strong storms, winds and heavy downpours during this time period. Temperatures should be warmer than normal.

Sunny skies are favored from Wednesday to Friday, July 25-27.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Saturday to Monday, July 28-30. Locally heavy rain totals are possible.
