Midwest July 2009

July is expected to experience near normal temperatures. Precipitation is favored to total drier than normal over much of the Midwest with above normal totals over Iowa.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to make their way west to east across the Midwest from Wednesday to Saturday, July 1-4. Locally heavy rain totals are possible.

Fair skies with scattered showers or thunderstorms are favored from Sunday to Friday, July 5-10. Light to moderate rain totals are possible.

Passing showers and thunderstorms are favored from Saturday to Monday, July 11-13. Locally heavy totals are likely over Nebraska, Iowa and northern Minnesota.

Fair skies with scattered storms are expected from Tuesday to Thursday, July 14-16.

Showers and thunderstorm are favored over Nebraska and Iowa from Friday to Monday, July 17-20.

Scattered storms are favored over the Dakotas and Minnesota from Tuesday to Friday, July 21-24.

Prospects are good for storms across the Midwest from Saturday to Monday, July 25-27. Locally heavy rain totals are possible.

Fair skies are expected from Tuesday to Friday, July 28-31.
