Weather Outlook:

Midwest January 2011

Temperatures are favored to average colder than normal. Precipitation is expected to total below normal.

Fair skies are favored to open the New Year from Saturday to Monday, January 1-3.

A passing snow is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 4-5. Snow totals should be light with colder temperatures.

Sunny skies with cold temperatures are favored from Thursday to Saturday, Jan. 6-8.

A fair sky with an occasional snow is expected from Sunday to Wednesday, Jan 9-12. Snow totals should be light with seasonable temperatures.

I like the prospect of a nice snowfall event around Thursday or Friday, Jan. 13-14. Moderate to locally heavy snow is possible with temperatures turning colder.

Sunny skies with below normal temperatures are favored from Saturday to Wednesday, Jan. 15-19.

Clouds with passing snow are expected on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 20-21. Light to moderate snowfall totals are possible with temperatures warming then cooling.

For the most part the last tens day of the month, Jan. 22-31, offer little in the way of snowfall prospects. Expect mostly dry skies with seasonable temperatures.
