Temperatures are favored to average near normal over much of the Midwest with colder than normal temperatures over Minnesota. Precipitation is expected to total drier than normal over much of the Midwest with near normal over southeastern Iowa. Fair skies are favored for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 1-2. I expect the ground hog to see his shadow with 6 more weeks of winter for the Midwest. Clouds and passing light snows are expected for Wednesday and Thursday, Feb 3-4. Snow totals should be light with cooler temperatures. Expect fair skies over the upper Midwest with passing snows over Iowa on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6. A mix of clouds and sun with an occasional passing light snow is favored from Sunday to Friday, Feb. 7-12. Colder temperatures are favored. A better chance for a significant snow is expected sometime between Saturday and Wednesday, Feb. 13-17. Cold temperatures are favored to remain. Sunnier skies and warming temperatures are favored from Thursday to Wednesday, Feb. 18-24. A mix of sun and clouds and maybe an occasional passing snow is expected to end out the month from Thursday to Sunday, Feb. 25-28. Temperatures should continue to warm.
