Weather Outlook:

Midwest DECEMBER 2010

Temperatures are favored to average near normal. Precipitation is expected to total above than normal.

Clouds along with rain changing to snow are favored from Wednesday to Saturday, Dec. 1-4. Moderate precipitation totals are likely with temperatures turning colder.

Sunny skies with cold temperatures are expected from Sunday to Wednesday, Dec. 5-8.

Prospects are good for clouds and snow from Thursday to Sunday, Dec. 9-12. Moderate to locally heavy snow totals are possible. Temperatures are expected to warm then turn cold.

Fair skies are favored from Monday to Thursday, Dec. 13-16, with maybe one day of precipitation.

The weather pattern is expected to become more active the second half of this month. I like the prospects for a nice snow event sometime between Friday and Tuesday, Dec. 17-21. This snow will most likely be a 2-day event. Moderate to locally heavy snow totals are possible.

A mix of sun and clouds with passing snows is favored from Wednesday to Monday, Dec. 22-27. I wouldn't be surprised to see temperatures warming where we could receive rain or freezing rain. Clouds and snow are forecasted for Saturday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day.

Prospects are for one nice snow event to end out the month from Tuesday to Friday, Dec. 28-31.
