Midwest August 2008

August is expected to experience slightly below normal temperatures. Precipitation is expected to total above normal over much of the Midwest with below normal totals over northern Minnesota and North Dakota.

Showers and thunderstorms are favored from Friday to Monday, August 1-4. Locally heavy rainfall totals are possible. Temperatures should cool.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Tuesday to Saturday, August 5-9. Locally heavy precipitation totals are possible especially over Iowa.

Passing showers and thunderstorms are favored over the Dakotas and Minnesota from Sunday to Wednesday, August 10-13. Locally heavy totals are possible.

Fair skies with isolated showers are expected for Thursday and Friday, August 14-15.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are favored from Saturday and Sunday, August 16-17.

Showers are favored over Minnesota with scattered storms over Iowa for Monday, August 18.

Fair skies with scattered showers are expected from Tuesday to Thursday, August 19-21. Temperatures should warm.

Passing showers and thunderstorms are favored over the Dakota's and Minnesota with scattered showers over Iowa from Friday to Monday, August 22-25. Temperatures should cool.

Fair skies are expected for Tuesday, August 26.

Showers and thunderstorms are favored over Nebraska and Iowa on Wednesday, August 27. Look for this system to move east on Thursday, August 28.

Fair skies are expected to finish out the month, with isolated showers at best, from Friday to Sunday, August 29-31.
